  I cancelled on the morning of my stay due to an unforeseen issue on the wotif website. I then called the motel spoke to Penny to tell her I was extremely sorry I’d just cancelled but I’d be back. There’d been an illness in the family. Shortly later I received an email stating the full amount of $138 was deducted from my credit card as a cancellation fee..

  I called Penny back to confirm this was correct. With no empathy she said that’s it 100% of the room charge is deducted if cancelled within 24 hours..

  I made a booking through Wotif which advertised no cancellation fee.. there was some fine print that the motel did have a 24 hour charge for cancellations I never saw.

  Fairly basic accommodation...neat but dated rooms. Not at all suited for a long term stay. Overnight is fine.
